    I think I have just discovered my favourite channel on RUclips ! Superb video. Loved the dumping shot emptying the load. I must search and see if you do residential black bag waste.

      With the camera view, you really feel as you are being ejected with the load. Then you see stuff tumble out, and you wonder if you are going to fall 50ft into a pit. Better than a rollercoaster. I would love to experience the thrill personally. I think I would have to find a friendly driver and buy him some beers !

    Great video! How many bins can you do before you have to unload?

      Depends on commodities. Wet and organics garbage gets heavy fast specially with apartments and restaurants. Recycle and dry waste truck fills up and gets hard to pack but is light weight wise. Average maybe 30/40 bins for wet or organics will put you at around 10 tons. Recycle and dry waste might get 45/50 IF you dont get a lot of cardboard and wood pallets.

    So what’s the difference between dry waste that goes to the mrf and regular trash that goes to the transfer pit? Why don’t all trash loads go through the mrf prior to transfer out to altamont? When I worked at WM, all trash went straight to the pit for landfill disposal. Only recycle went went recycle America for sorting and yard waste was dumped separate and transferred for compost/cover.

      By the way, I really enjoy your videos. Brings back a lot of memories. I loved that job.

      Dry waste is mostly industrial areas. Wet garbage is apartments and restaurants. Certain cities pay to have residential garbage sorted out in the OMRF those that dont go straight to the pit.

    Just curious. The ram can travel the length of the bin to empty, why does it not go further when loading with garbage, especially when it begins to fill.

    • @GarbageGus
      @GarbageGus  3 месяца назад

      I was told if the ram traveled all the way the pistons would get damaged or the tailgate would pop open with the force. The short travel allows the trash to turn over and over to help compacting.

    Is it possible you could do a video of tipping the truck or will you not be allowed

    • @GarbageGus
      @GarbageGus  4 месяца назад +1

      Check out the video I posted today. It's all trucks being emptied at the transfer station. Only sideloaders and roll off trucks tip the bodies. E everything else only ejects with the body down.
